Bridgestone donates £2k to Warwick voluntary ambulance service
Bridgestone has donated £2,000 to a voluntary first aid service in Warwick in order to buy a defibrillator, new uniform and premium tyres for its four ambulances. The Leamington based brand says the Warwick Ambulance Association support demonstrates its commitment to vital community causes.
The voluntary organisation gives up 10,000 hours each year to support a host of sporting and local events, ensuring that participants and visitors are taken care of. After the group recently purchased a fourth ambulance to carry out more duties, it required further funds to buy essential equipment.
Fundraiser Jat Rai said: “We pride ourselves on being able to provide first aid cover at a host of events, from music concerts to Coventry Bees speedway meetings. However, we are always indebted to the community for financial support to keep us going and supplement the fantastic work of our volunteers, who receive no financial payment for their time.
“We approached Bridgestone and were absolutely thrilled when they agreed to donate £2,000, which will make a huge difference to our daily operations. We will use the money to purchase a new defibrillator while also putting some of the funds towards new uniforms too. Meanwhile, our four ambulances will benefit from premium Bridgestone tyres, which are hugely important in keeping us safe both on road and off road, when we are attending to casualties.”
The tyres were fitted at Warwick based Protyre last week, where Callum Palmer and his team were on hand to assist with the four ambulances.
Bridgestone’s consumer marketing manager Tim Lee said: “We always strive to support local organisations where possible, and there is barely a more worthwhile cause than Warwick Ambulance Association.
“The volunteers carry out so much hard work and are extremely dedicated, giving up thousands of hours of their time each year. Our donation will make a difference to their daily work and we are really pleased to think that it will play a small part in what is a fantastic organisation. We’re only too pleased to show our support.”
