Bridgestone announces latest bike promotion winners
Two biking fanatics have received prizes from Bridgestone’s motorcycle team, responding to contests conducted at a recent motorcycle festival, and on the company’s social networking pages. Katrina Rex beat dozens of men to win a set of premium Bridgestone radial bike tyres at the recent Shropshire Bike Festival, holding out tyres on her outstretched arms for a longer period of time than anyone else. Meanwhile, Steve Trudgeon from St Austell triumphed in a Bridgestone Facebook competition, earning a place at the Honda Ron Haslam Race School at Donington.
Rex put her impressive performance down to regular gym sessions and said that the tyres would prove to be invaluable over the coming months: “I think I surprised a few people when I walked up with my high heeled boots on. I’m sure everyone thought I’d hold the tyres for a few seconds, so it was nice to prove them wrong and even nicer to win the overall prize.”
Trudgeon was similarly delighted to win a Bridgestone bike prize after making the 650 mile round trip to visit the Honda Ron Haslam Race School: “It was a great day and I enjoyed every second. I found out I had won just 24 hours before the event itself, so I quickly asked the boss for the day off. However, I did warn him that I’d be taking the day off sick if he didn’t allow me to go, so he had no choice in the matter. I wouldn’t have missed it for the world.”
Bridgestone’s business development manager Steve Watts said: “We are always looking to offer incentives and rewards to our customers and these two competitions are examples of this. It was nice to see Katrina and Steve looking so pleased, which make all of our plans worthwhile. We will continue to offer incentives and prizes before the end of the year, so we hope everyone can stay tuned and keep checking our social networking pages for more.”
