Aebi Schmidt selects Hankook Vantra LT

Aebi Schmidt has selected Hankook’s Vantra LT tyre for its Swingo 200 street cleaning machines. At over four tonnes, the Swingo 200 is tough machine that can expect a long and arduous working life. This specialist machine also boasts a large hopper capacity, resulting in a 50 per cent bigger payload than other street sweepers.

Andy Reilly, Technical Manager at Aebi Schmitt, said: “We wanted a high-quality tyre that would be long lasting and durable. Hankook’s Vantra tyre claimed to offer just that and so far, we’ve been extremely pleased with its performance.”

Resisting damage whilst working in tight spaces and coping with the weight transfer caused by the edge of the road camber demand a very tough, resilient and durable tyre. The 215R14 Vantra LT meets the exacting requirements of both the machine and its German manufacturer.

Chris Baxter, technical services manager at Hankook Tyre, commented: “The Swingo 200 is used by local authorities across the country, so we’re extremely proud that the Hankook Vantra has been chosen as factory approved fitment.

“These vehicles usually clock up thousands of miles in their operational lifetimes and their tyres need to be robust. Working so close to the kerb puts additional strain on tyres but the Vantra LT has been specially designed to stand up in these kinds of conditions.”

The new pairing was put into action earlier this year when Aebi Schmidt provided a Swingo 200 to clean around Hankook’s new warehouse facility prior to its official opening by HRH The Princess Royal.
