Starco expands South African subsidiary
Starco reports that it has expanded its South African operation. Starco ZA, created in July 2012 to serve the South Africa market and provide a bridgehead for further expansion on the African continent, was established as a partnership with former local distributor Mac and TireCity, an already well-established firm with three strategically located distribution outlets in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town. A fourth Starco ZA distribution outlet, in Port Elizabeth, has now been opened and will support the growing fork lift truck tyre service market.
The operation in Port Elizabeth is led by Danie Coetzer, Starco ZA’s regional sales manager Cape. Coetzer boasts more than 15 years’ experience in the FLT business and is supported in his new role by Rudi du Toit as sales manager and Elouise du Toit in administration. Starco reports that the new Port Elizabeth site has, from its inception, entered into service agreements with several major FLT operators in the region.
Through it four distribution centres throughout South Africa, Starco ZA offers its customers access to the complete range of Starco special wheels, with a focus on agricultural, industrial and FLT products. The company recently made its debut in the South African agricultural market at the 2013 NAMPO agricultural machinery and livestock show in Bothaville, which attracted over 70,000 visitors.
