Dunlop dominates TT Supersport
The first Isle of Man TT Supersport race once again saw Dunlop riders take 1st, 2nd and 3rd places on the podium – with Michael Dunlop continuing his winning streak using the latest road legal Dunlop D212 GP PRO tyres that were launched earlier this year. Michael Dunlop was joined by his brother on the podium, with William Dunlop taking third place and Bruce Anstey coming in second, 10 seconds behind Michael.
Michael Dunlop then went on to take two Isle of Man TT victories in one day, clinching the Superstock race victory, ahead of Gary Johnson and John McGuinness, after a phenomenal final lap – setting a class lap record with a speed of 131.220mph. After the first Superbike, Supersport and Superstock races, Dunlop riders took eight out of a total nine podium places.
Commenting on the race, Mark Sears, Dunlop Motorcycle Product Support Manager, said: “What a day for Michael Dunlop, absolutely incredible riding. Testament again to the performance of our D212 GP PRO tyres in the Supersport and Superstock races and the sheer will, nerves and skill of our riders.”
Official tyre partner to the Isle of Man TT, around 70 competitors are riding on Dunlop tyres in the Supersport, Superstock, Superbike and Senior TT races. As a part of its 125 year celebrations, Dunlop is giving away a Honda CBR600RR bike.
