Kiene launches ‘Extender’

Earlier this year US firm Kiene Diesel Accessories – whose products are distributed in the UK by Liftmaster Garage Equipment – introduced a new adapter for its K-1350 Wheel Grabber. This “Extender” allows a technician to safely remove seized wheels from vehicles on a floor lift.

The Kiene Wheel Grabber is a well-established tool for removing seized wheels from heavy duty tractors, trailers and buses, as well as Ford super-duty applications. It allows one technician to quickly and safely remove the most stubborn seized wheels. With the “Extender” in place, the vehicle does not have to be taken off the lift to remove a seized wheel. With the pulling chains hooked into the hand holes and their safety hooks attached to the wheel grabber, the hub socket is centred on the wheel hub and an impact wrench, applied to the forcing screw, uniformly tightens the pulling chains until the seized wheel is freed – without damage to the wheel, hub or technician.

In addition to the new extension, Kiene has developed another Wheel Grabber adapter which will remove seized brake drums. This adapter was released in the second quarter of 2013.
