ATS Euromaster, Michelin chosen for 40,000+ Volkswagen lease fleet

Volkswagen Group Leasing (VGL), the fleet and corporate hire arm of Volkswagen Financial Services (UK), has chosen Michelin as its preferred tyre brand and appointed ATS Euromaster to fit and service tyres across its fleet for the next two years. Both contracts commenced on 1 April 2013 and cover VGL’s fleet of more than 40,000 cars and vans, which are supplied to customers on a mixture of contract hire and fixed cost maintenance agreements. The fleet also includes cars supplied to Volkswagen Financial Services’ employees.

ATS Euromaster’s appointment gives VGL customers access to the company’s more than 350 centres throughout the UK and its fleet of around 900 service vans, which can be pre-booked to fit tyres at a customer’s home or place of work. “We considered a range of service providers during the tender process, before selecting ATS Euromaster on the back of its impressive experience within the fleet sector and clear commitment to provide expert and honest service to customers,” said Martin Phillips, head of Fleet Operations at VGL. “Separately, our decision to appoint Michelin will ensure we are fitting the optimum replacement tyres for our customers’ needs, particularly with regards to delivering high levels of safety, fuel saving and longer tyre life.

ATS Euromaster says it worked closely with VGL to ensure a smooth transition, and the existing customer contact hotline number is now redirected to ATS Euromaster’s call centre team in Birmingham.
