Toyo becomes BRSCC Porsche Championship title sponsor
Toyo’s Proxes R888 will be the control tyre for the Toyo Tires BRSCC Porsche Championship. The partnership deal includes title sponsorship for the 2013 season, which will see Boxsters and classic 924s battling for supremacy on the UK’s finest circuits. Toyo says that the skills of the participating drivers will make for some close racing, and the emphasis will be placed on preparing talents for future motorsport series while keeping costs manageable.
The Toyo R888 is described by the brand as “one of the true stalwarts of UK club motorsport”, providing a control tyre to “dozens of championships and series”. The high performance rubber has a variety of fitments and Toyo emphasises its affordability in making it a favourite of drivers and championship co-ordinators. The tyre, despite a “semi slick” design, is road legal, with full ‘E’ marking and the ability to cope with wet roads.
Commenting on the sponsorship, championship organiser Nick Hull said: “We’re delighted to welcome Toyo on board as title sponsor for the 2013 season. Not only do we value their technical input and advice, but we know that both the front and mid-engine cars perform exceptionally well on these tyres, giving drivers the chance to really get the best from their chassis set-up in all conditions.”
The first round of the championship will be at Rockingham circuit on the 6-7 April, 2013.
