Subaru supplier awards for 3 US tyre makers
Subaru of Indiana Automotive, the US-based plant that produces some 250,000 Subaru and Toyota vehicles each year, has named three tyre makers as recipients of its annual Quality & Delivery awards. At an awards ceremony on 13 March, the company presented awards to 33 parts suppliers, including Goodyear Tire & Rubber, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations and Continental Tire the Americas.
In a statement confirming its receipt of the distinction, Goodyear explains that its Quality and Delivery award was given for achieving 100 per cent on-time delivery for production and for reaching the ‘supplier quality assurance minimum allowable parts per million rating.’ The award was presented to Johann Finkelmeier, Goodyear’s vice-president for North American original equipment sales.
“I am very proud to accept this award on behalf of Goodyear,” Finkelmeier said. “As the leader in original equipment tyre supply in North America, we are more driven to deliver products that help to enhance the performance and appeal of these vehicles.” Goodyear supplies original equipment tyres to the Subaru Tribeca. In addition to manufacturing the Tribeca, the Fuji Heavy Industries-owned plant produces the Subaru Legacy and Outback, along with the Toyota Camry.
