Hankook wins 2013 iF Design award
Hankook Tire has been awarded two iF Design Awards for its Ventus S1 evo2 Motion Graphic Brochure and Eco Motion Graphic Brochure animated product films. Both have both been awarded the 2013 iF Design Award in the ‘communication’ category. This marks the third time that Hankook has received the internationally recognised design award; the tyre maker also gained this distinction in 2009 and 2011.
The Ventus S1 evo2 Motion Graphic Brochure depicts a sports car driving on the Ventus S1 evo2’s tread design. Demonstrating the tyres superior handling and braking characteristics, it allows the spectator to experience the dynamic sensation arising from the tyre’s driving performance. Hankook says the jury was particularly impressed by the futuristic and sporty design language of the online product brochure.
The Eco Motion Graphic Brochure, which depicts the quality and environmental friendliness of the Hankook tyres Kinergy eco and Enfren eco, also captured the jury’s attention. Using a tyre made of paper, this motion graphic brochure emphasises the low rolling resistance, high energy efficiency and wet braking performance of Hankook’s eco-friendly products along with the company’s efforts to protect the environment.
“In 2009, Hankook Tire was the first company ever in the tyre industry that has been honoured with the iF Design Awards.” said Hee-Se Ahn, vice-president of marketing and sales at Hankook Tire Europe. “Since then, Hankook’s design capabilities have repeatedly been distinguished with international awards, including the Red Dot Design Awards and the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA). They give impressive proof of our innovation excellence and leadership in the areas of design and technology. We are more than happy to have received two of the renowned iF Design Awards this year and will pursue our marketing efforts to explain our innovations in effective and creative ways to our customers.”
