Bridgestone OE on Nissan 370Z Nismo
Nissan will fit Bridgestone’s Potenza S001 tyres to its new European market Nismo. The tyre manufacturer will supply wider 245/40R19 sizes on the front and 285/35R19 on the rear with a “tailor-made” compound. The tyre will respond to the V6 344-horsepower coupe’s cornering, sporty handling and power, Bridgestone says.
The Nismo, already sold in the US and Japan, has a new specification, the 370Z, developed to suit European road conditions and the tastes of European driving enthusiasts. The 3.7L V6 delivers 344HP up from 328HP in the standard car. The wider Bridgestone tyres put more rubber on the road for improved grip, and distribute the car weight over a larger contact area to control heat distribution. Bridgestone says the tyres balance safety with high performance, providing the dry traction necessary for acceleration of 0-100kph in 5.2 seconds. Additionally they are labelled C for wet grip, the manufacturer revealed.
Nismo, abbreviated from Nissan Motorsports, is the line of performance sports models from Nissan Motor Company. The 370Z is the latest in a long line of Z sports cars manufactured by Nissan since the late 1960’s.
