Toyo to open Toyo Tyre Malaysia in spring 2013
Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd. president and CEO Kenji Nakakura has announced a change in name for its forthcoming consolidated tyre manufacturing subsidiary in Malaysia. Formerly Toyo Tyre Manufacturing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, the passenger and light truck tyre manufacturing facility will now be known as Toyo Tyre Malaysia Sdn Bhd. The factory will begin operation next spring.
Toyo said the factory reflects its concentration on growing markets and strategically important business under one of the key strategies of its 2011 Mid-Term Business Plan. The purpose of changing the company name is to designate TTM “as a marketing and manufacturing company”, widening the facility’s purview. This is in order to improve Toyo’s supply chain system to respond quickly to changing market demands. Located in Taiping Perak, TTM will have a capital stock worth 200 million ringgit Malaysia (£41 million).
