Social network tyre business usage over 50%
More than 50 per cent of businesses in the tyre industry use social networks like Facebook and Twitter for business purposes, according to a poll conducted amongst trade visitors to Tyrepress.com. A full report on social network use in the tyre business has been published in the October edition of Tyres & Accessories for the past two years, and in this relatively short period of time we have seen growing competitiveness amongst the big-name manufacturers in particular.
With most mid-range and the more prevalent budget brands increasing their online activities, it is natural for tyre industry businesses to increase their visibility on the social networks, as they can be a key driver of traffic to their full websites. Retailers are also strengthening their level of social network interaction, or what is loosely termed “influence”, with names such as HiQ, Kwik-Fit and Blackcircles.com increasing their ratings on the Klout rankings metric.
