Mäkinen takes on Nordic market responsibility at Mitas

Former Nokian Heavy Tyres marketing manager Perttu Mäkinen has been appointed by Mitas as its country manager for the Nordic region. Mäkinen will operate from the Mitas a.s. headquarters in Tampere, Finland, and his responsibilities will include sales and marketing for Mitas and Continental agricultural and other off-road tyres in Finland, Sweden and Norway.

“Mitas is beefing up its presence in the north,” said Mitas sales and marketing director Andrew Mabin. “This is in line with promoting its core brands and business areas.” Mitas manufactures and sells Mitas and Cultor off-road tyres and Continental-branded agricultural tyres.

Mäkinen worked for Nokian Heavy Tyres for ten years as marketing manager and key account manager responsible for South America, the UK, Turkey, Middle East, Israel and Africa. In addition, he was responsible for developing IT and sales applications.

“Perttu knows all the ins and outs of tyre-making,” Mabin continued. Mäkinen started his professional career as an operator of tyre-making machines. “This hands-on experience is what farmers and original equipment manufacturers value,” the sales and marketing manager added.
