Michelin starting 2013 with several new moto additions
Early next year Michelin will launch several new motorcycle products. Available from the start of 2013 is the replacement for Michelin’s Power One Track, the Power SuperSport. The new tyre is said to slot between the Street and Power One Power Cup in Michelin’s motorcycle line-up, and be intended for 50-50 road/track use. One front wheel size – 120/70-17 (58W) – and four for the rear wheel – 180/55-17 (73W), 190/50-17 (73W), 190/55-17 (73W) and 200/55-17 (78W) – have been announced.
Two further new additions joining the Michelin moto family in January 2013 are the Pilot Power 3 and the Anakee 2. The Pilot Power 3 is a sports tyre that will replace the Power Pure. The Anakee 3 is a trail tyre that replaces the Anakee 2. This tyre will be available in 120/70 R19 and 170/60 R 17 sizes to fit the 2013 BMW R1200 GS and KTM 1190 Adventure.
Those waiting for the new Michelin Pilot Street, a tyre designed for sub-500cc motorcycles, will have to wait a little longer; the Pilot Street will be available from April 2013.
