Apollo launches 57-inch OTR tyre

The 11th International Mining and Machinery Exhibition (IMME) took place in Kolkata, India between 5 and 8 December. During the show Apollo Tyres launched the largest OTR tyre produced in the country, the XTRAX 40.00‐57.

Intended for use on 240 tonne dumper trucks, such as those operating in mining applications, each XTRAX 40.00‐57 tyre is manufactured using 1.9 tonnes of rubber, 750 kilogrammes of carbon black, 350 kilogrammes of nylon fabric and half a tonne of other rubber chemicals. The 57-inch fitment is produced at Apollo’s Limbda, Gujarat State plant and each tyre weighs 3.5 tonnes and has a total height of 11.7 feet (3.6 metres).
