Zafco opens extended head office facility
Zafco, the United Arab Emirates-based importer & exporter of tyres, batteries and automotive lubricants, has inaugurated its new office extension in Dubai. The opening of the facility, located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), was marked by a celebration on 22 November. Senior officials from Jafza, shipping firm DP World, Dubai Customs and several banks joined Zafco’s staff at the event. Zafco described the inauguration as a “new milestone in the company’s journey of ‘Growing Together’ with its business partners.”
The extension project took 18 months to complete and gives Zafco a facility that offers its employees a gymnasium, men and women’s prayer rooms, multimedia library and two dining areas. The offices also house a 109 seat auditorium for employee training and gatherings. Zafco says “millions of dirhams” were invested in the project.
“Zafco has a culture of caring for its customers, employees and business partners,” stated Zafco chief operating officer Sebastian Thomas. “While this facility is the latest example of caring for our employees, a recent example of our customer focus is the introduction of innovative car service centres in Dubai under the brand ZDegree (the first ZDegree service centre opened in November 2011). ZDegree offers the unique and convenient service of online shopping for tyres and mobile service vans that will fix the tyres at your doorstep. In both cases, the underlying principle is the same: a passion to go beyond the norms in addressing the needs of our stakeholders.”
Chief finance officer Rishi Vig added: “When we sit back and look at what Zafco offers to its employees, we can clearly see the company’s commitment to employee welfare. This includes having in place a culture that values and rewards teamwork and ethical work practices, and employee benefits that include facilities like this, special leaves and other employee friendly policies.”
