SC Motor Factors Ltd accelerates plans for growth
Premier south east distributor of car parts SC Motor Factors Ltd, has accepted a significant investment from HgCapital. The investment will enable the company to accelerate plans to expand its current network. The company has strong links with The Parts Alliance, whose members include two other recipients of investment in order to expand their operations since August, CES (UK) and Allparts Automotive.
Jeremy Stopher, co-founder and managing director of SC Motor Factors comments: “The investment by HgCapital in SC Motor Factors is recognition of the great business that we’ve built. SC Motor Factors has gained a strong reputation within the automotive aftermarket and the investment by HgCapital will allow us to build on our success and strengthen and develop our business network further.”
Following the investment, the distributor will retain its own regional identity and workforce. Stopher will continue to manage the company and drive forward their plans for growth, with the support of the existing board of directors and management team.
SC Motor Factors will remain a committed member of The Parts Alliance. Its chairman Steve Fulford comments: “We’re absolutely delighted that another member of The Parts Alliance will receive investment. This will further strengthen the capabilities of The Parts Alliance, increase the group’s distribution network and help drive forward our plans for the future. It’s an exciting time for everyone connected with the group.”
This news follows recent announcements from CES (UK) and Allparts, both members of The Parts Alliance, who have also received investment from the same private equity company, HgCapital, which manage assets worth over £3.6 billion for some of the world’s leading institutional and private investors. It has a strong interest in the automotive aftermarket and boasts expertise in investment in the sector.
