Kumho outlines ‘Pink Ribbon Campaign’ support
As a supporter of breast cancer awareness campaigns, Kumho Tires is participating in the 'Pink Ribbon Love Marathon'. Earlier, in June, Kumho Tires held a new product launch presentation held at an aircraft hanger at Seoul’s Incheon International Airport, where it also signed an agreement with the Korea Breast Cancer Foundation to support the Pink Ribbon Campaign, a programme designed to promote the importance of breast health, a regular breast self-exam and early detection. The campaign is run by Korea Breast Cancer Foundation, established in 2000 as Korea's first non-profit foundation dedicated to breast health.
Throughout the year, Kumho Tires participated in the campaign and launched a variety of events to attract more employees and consumers join the initiative. From 25 to 28 July, the Pink Ribbon Campaign was conducted at Kumho Asiana Group headquarters building in Seoul and at other locations. On 7 October the company drew attention for its participation in ‘2012 Pink Ribbon Love Marathon’, held at Seoul’s Yeouido Park. The Korea Breast Cancer Foundation-hosted event was attended by 130 pink shirt-wearing Kumho Tires employees. The tyre maker ran a booth selling specially designed pink tyre valve caps and donated the proceeds to the foundation.
“We are very pleased that we are able to join Pink Ribbon Love Marathon, the extension of Korea’s major breast cancer awareness campaign. Kumho Tires will remain committed to its social responsibility as a respected tire company with the best quality and the latest technology,” said Sang-gyu Lee, executive director of human resources at Kumho Tires.
