Klarius Group sells QH Ireland to CD Group
The Klarius Group has concluded an agreement with Irish auto parts distribution company, CD Group, to sell its Quinton Hazell Ireland operation. QH Ireland will continue to operate as a stand-alone entity within the CD Group of companies distributing QH and Klarius branded products to the Irish market. Customers can continue to deal with the people that they always have done at QH in Dublin and place orders through the normal channels.
Terry Knox, Component Distributors (CD) Group Director, comments “This deal not only expands our group operations and presence in Ireland but allows us to share our distribution expertise and infrastructure with our new colleagues at QH Ireland. We are excited by the addition of the QH business to the group as the acquisition fits well with our plans for continued growth on the island.”
There is a great affinity between QH and CD since Stuart Knox, Terry’s grandfather, worked with Sir Quinton Hazell in the 1960s and helped him to establish QH in Ireland.
Paul Hannah, Klarius Group International Business Development director put the deal into context: “The CD Group is far and away the leading autoparts distributor to the Irish market and the Klarius Group is a manufacturer and supplier of parts. We don’t want to be in competition with large distributors, they play a key role in the route to market for our products and this deal simplifies our business structure while establishing a much stronger channel for our products to reach the market in Ireland, whilst also reinforcing our strong relationship with the CD Group.”
