Goodyear Dunlop implementing US moto division changes
Changes to Goodyear Dunlop Tires North America’s motorcycle division are scheduled to take effect on 1 January 2013. The company has announced that certain of its administrative functions will relocate from Buffalo, New York to Goodyear’s headquarters in Akron, Ohio. These include non-field sales positions, marketing, customer service, supply chain and non-factory related human resources. Goodyear Dunlop says the move will allow the business to enhance its customer service while also adding resources to the motorcycle division. Dunlop’s Research and Development department will remain in Buffalo.
From an organisational standpoint, Mike Buckley has been promoted to senior vice-president of Sales, Marketing and R&D, and will assume the additional management responsibilities for R&D at the tyre maker’s Buffalo plant. In addition, Mike Manning has been promoted to the newly created position of general manager marketing. In this new expanded role, he will oversee all aspects of marketing in each of the targeted market segments and report directly to Mike Buckley.
“Dunlop has always delivered market-driven, industry leading products to powersports customers,” said Chuck Mick, president and chairman Goodyear Dunlop Tires North America. “These organisational changes will lead to even better and more timely new products.”
