TPMS issue prompts Australian Aston recall
The installation of incorrect tyre pressure monitoring system software has led to the recall of certain Aston Martin models in Australia. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has reported the recall of V12 Vantage models sold between 1 August 2009 and 1 October 2012.
“If the pressure in the front tyres of the vehicle reduces because of a leak or puncture, the TPMS system will not give a warning to the driver until the tyre pressure is 3 psi lower than the design specification,” states the commission in a recall notice. “This may result in loss of control of the vehicle, posing a traffic hazard to the driver and other road users.”
Owners of potentially affected vehicles have been advised to contact an authorised Aston Martin dealer for inspection and repair.
