SmartWay verification for two Bandag products
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has added to Bandag retread products, the B710 FuelTech and B197 FuelTech, to its list of SmartWay verified low rolling resistance tyres. Announcing the additions, Bert Jones, Bridgestone Commercial Solutions manager, Product Marketing, TBR, commented: “We are constantly striving to develop eco-friendly products and processes while meeting the fuel saving needs of our customers.”
Bridgestone Commercial Solutions says the Bandag B710 FuelTech drive tyre was specifically engineered to complement the Bridgestone M710 Ecopia, which is also SmartWay verified. Bridgestone calls the tyre “an achievement in low rolling resistance design” that “delivers excellent mileage and performance, plus all the eco-friendly benefits of retreading for tandem drive axles in over-the-highway use.”
The Bandag B197 FuelTech trailer tyre is said to complement the SmartWay verified, Bridgestone R197 Ecopia in design and performance. “Its advanced tread compound and low rolling resistance design results in long tread life and fuel economy on tandem trailer axles in over-the-highway use,” reports the tyre maker.
“Customers can maximise the rolling resistance benefit when pairing a SmartWay verified retread and casing, particularly the Bandag FuelTech product with a Bridgestone Ecopia casing,” added Jones.
