Nizhnekamsk truck plant passes environmental audit
Russia’s Tatneft reports the successful completion of an environmental inspection at its Nizhnekamsk truck tyre factory. According to the results of the inspection audit conducted by Republican Certification Methodology Center "TestTatarstan" (OS IMS TatSert, Kazan), the plant’s environmental management system was recognised to be in compliance with the requirements of GOST R ISO 140012007.
The audit was performed to validate the organisation of activities aimed at protecting the environment and controlling the content of hazardous substances at the Nizhnekamsk production facilities and the surrounding area. The audit scope included the performance parameters associated with environmental impact, the condition of facilities, treatment systems plus many other factors. The audit also assessed the activities for the prevention of emergency situations.
The Nizhnekamsk truck tyre factory was transformed into a limited liability company on 1 July 2011. The plant manufactures truck and agricultural tyres, fabricated rubber and related products; the current range covers approximately 30 tyre models and sizes. The factory currently produces over 7,000 tyres per day.
