Michelin scoops two TAFF awards
Michelin has won two prestigious Tyre and Fast-Fit (TAFF) awards at this year’s ceremony held by the National Tyre Distributors Association (NTDA) held on 10 October in Manchester. The company picked up both the Industry Advertising award and the Product Innovation award at the association’s annual dinner hosted this week in Manchester.
The annual dinner has been held for the last 83 years and the awards now associated with it are fiercely contested each year. Michelin, for example, beat rival tyre manufacturers Continental and Pirelli to win the Industry Advertising award with its ‘Right Tyre Changes Everything’ campaign. The campaign, which has been running for several years with a different emphasis each year, focused on safety showcasing the Michelin Primacy 3 tyre.
The Product Innovation Award was awarded to Michelin for its Energy Saver + tyre. Tests on the tyre showed it reduces fuel consumption by 200 litres for every 45,000 kilometres travelled and, on average, it provided 9,300 kilometres more than competitive premium tyres.
Malcolm Scovell, commercial director at Michelin said: “We are delighted to have been selected for both of these awards. It is a massive achievement for Michelin and everyone who works for the company. The TAFF awards celebrate the best in the tyre industry and winning not one but two awards is testament to Michelin’s innovation and creativity.”
