Merityre becomes label ready with CAM Systems
Well known tyre retail operation Merityre is up and running with a customer-facing display from CAM Systems in readiness to meet consumer requirements around tyre labelling from 1 November and benefit from the opportunity to up-sell to higher margin products.
The company reports that it started on the tyre labelling journey with CAM some 18 months ago, exhibiting its understanding of the regulations and demonstrating its foresight to be compliant ahead of the deadline. Accordingly, the IT team at Merityre was on the case early in co-ordinating the solution delivery with CAM, from initial testing to depot installations, to ensure the software was effectively presented to its customer-facing screens.
“It’s an important point,” cites CAM managing director, Mike Allen. “Tyre labelling legislation compliance isn’t about merely placing a purchase order upon organisations like ours. Each tyre dealer has a responsibility to deliver compliance at all levels including – but certainly not limited to – their computer systems.”
CAM’s customer-facing display enables motorists to make an informed choice about a tyre product and its rolling resistance, wet braking and noise characteristics when weighing up their tyre purchase options and communicates Merityre’s professionalism and expertise.
Noel Pope, director of Merityre, says, “When the legislation became visible two years ago, we knew we wanted to be open for business from the outset. By working closely with CAM systems and investing in its tyre labelling solutions we are ready to go in good time.”
Mike Allen adds, “Merityre demonstrated very early on that it was diligent in getting in shape for the legislation. It has been a privilege working with a retailer that has understood the opportunity tyre labelling will bring to its business.”
