Heuver – the commercial segment specialist
Heuver Tyrewholesale has established itself as a major European player over the past 45 years, a position it says works to the benefit of customers and end users alike. The Netherlands-based company shared with Tyres & Accessories that the decision to specialise in the truck, earth-moving and agricultural markets has proved to be a strength for Heuver and offers many opportunities. The company deals in all well-known brands and possesses its own comprehensive range of imported brands.
“We have been specialising in commercial tyre import and distribution for many years. We believe this is more beneficial than doing a little bit of everything,” states Bertus Heuver, director of Heuver Tyrewholesale. “This allows us to focus all our attention on three sectors. Another advantage is that it allows us to recruit genuine professionals for our teams or to internally train our own people via our Heuver Academy. This helps us to create consistency and retain our leading position in the market.”
Specialist in three sectors
Heuver Tyrewholesale was founded in 1966 by Mans Heuver. Brothers Jan and Bertus Heuver are now at the helm and the family firm has become an international business. Bertus Heuver elaborates: “Our wholesale activities solely focus on B-to-B. In other words, professional customers looking for truck and trailer tyres, earth-moving tyres or agricultural tyres. That’s where our strengths traditionally lie and these are the three sectors on which we will continue to focus. And this is in the best interest of our customers, tyre wholesalers and end users.
100,000 ‘electronic’ truck tyres in one year
“Because we operate at an international level, our larger volumes naturally result in the most competitive purchase and retail prices”, Bertus Heuver continues. “In the meantime, more and more customers are using the web-shop at www.heuver.com to place their orders. We also introduced a bonus shop in October 2011, and recently sold our 100,000th truck tyre via the internet. This confirms our philosophy that electronic sales are extremely important in our sector. And further still, it has made them an essential part of our operations. We continue to lead by example, as one would expect from a top company. This is one of the reasons why we have a diverse stock of (on average) 60,000 tyres in our specialised sectors. However, customers sometimes want very specific tyres. In this case, Heuver will find them via its international network. Saying ‘no’ is simply not an option, which is why we always cater to the needs of our customers.”
Heuver – exclusive Aeolus dealer for eight European markets
The wholesaler is also active in the truck sector and for the past ten years has held a contract with Aeolus for a number of European countries (Kings Road Tyres is the exclusive Aeolus distributor in the UK). During this period Heuver has supplied a wide range of truck, trailer and bus tyres and has become an OEM supplier to major trailer manufacturers.
Recently, in collaboration with Aeolus and Kargro Montfoort, Heuver also introduced the Aeolus Eco-Twin under the slogan ‘Give Aeolus Tyres a Second Life’. Aeolus Eco-Twin tyres – mould cure retreads based upon selected Aeolus casings – offer trailer operators higher returns. Aeolus Eco-Twin tyres are available in size 385/65R22.5. Heuver commented to Tyres & Accessories that this ‘driveability concept’, which is an option for new and retreaded tyres, enables users to reduce costs and positively influences their returns. The company added that fleet operators are actively subscribing to this new ‘second life’ concept, where retreaded tyres have a quality and lifespan similar to that of new tyres.
In the earth-moving market, Heuver offers well-known brands and sizes for all applications and sells tyres all over the world. Once again, a complete range of Aeolus earthmover tyres is on offer, with most products always in stock.
