GEA runs BEN golf day
On Thursday 16 August the Garage Equipment Association (GEA) hosted its Annual Charity Golf Day at Whittlebury Park Golf & Country Club, raising over £2,800 for the automotive industry charity, BEN. The event was attended by members and non-members of the GEA with a total of 18 teams taking part in the golf championship with the attendance being the highest in 5 years.
Prizes included the title of ‘Nearest the Pin’ and the ‘Longest Drive’. Premier Diagnostics were crowned champions winning the GEA team prize with 85pts. The best individual score went to Simon Brown with 37pts.
Dave Garratt, GEA’s chief executive commented: “I see the GEA & BEN Golf Day as a great opportunity to bring the Garage Equipment Industry together whilst at the same time supporting our charity. Feed-back from GEA members and non-members is very positive. I think it’s because we just relaxed, remembered not to take things too seriously and enjoyed.”
Warren Neal, BEN’s events and exhibitions co-ordinator said: “It was a good day for golf, the weather was on our side and the course was in superb condition. Thanks to all who took part, for their support of the event and BEN. I hope to see you all next year.”
