Cornwall shoppers provided with tyre checks
TyreSafe chairman, Stuart Jackson has commended Cornwall Council Road Safety Team for its tyre safety roadshow in partnership with Devon & Cornwall Police and Steve Andrews Tyres, marking October’s Tyre Safety Month. Cornish shoppers at three of the largest UK supermarkets will have the opportunity to have their tyres checked for free.
Jackson said: “This is a great opportunity for shoppers in Cornwall to have their tyres inspected by a team of local experts, completely free of charge. And it’s especially important at this time of year as we head towards winter and road conditions worsen to make sure your tyres are safe, which includes having adequate tread depth and the correct air pressure.
“Our thanks also go to Cornwall Council Road Safety Team, Devon & Cornwall Police and Steve Andrews Tyres for supporting national tyre safety month at a local level and getting fully behind the campaign.”
First stop is Tesco’s in Helston on 15 October, followed by Sainsbury’s in Truro on 16, Asda in Bodmin on 18 and finally Tesco’s in Callington on 19. Apart from the tyre checks, shoppers can also talk to the tyre experts on hand to find out how to best look after their tyres so they remain as safe as possible when driving.
