Austyre – engineered in Australia
Visitors to September’s CITExpo show in Shanghai were able to spot Austyre Australia’s stand from afar, as a larger-than-life inflatable kangaroo greeted anyone who stopped by. But Austyre Australia had more on offer than just air-filled macropods – the Dandenong-based company is the firm behind the Austyre brand of passenger car, light truck, UHP, SUV and truck tyres.
“The Austyre brand has been on the market for five years now,” Austyre Australia managing director Ejay Rahmani commented to Tyres & Accessories. “The tyres are engineered in Australia and made in China, in Qingdao, and we sell in a number of regions, including Australia, New Zealand, the Americas and Africa.”
Rahmani shared that the tyres are engineered by Goodyear Australia and the tyre moulds produced by Austyre. The tyres are then produced in China; the company’s website says Austyre has worked with Shandong Yongtai Chemical Group Co. Ltd. Tyres sold under the Austyre brand name have passed a number of certifications, including E-MARK, DOT, INMETRO, ISO9001:2000 and CCC standard certification.
