The Parts Alliance Leads using Autodata in AlliCat
Vehicle parts supplier group, The Parts Alliance, is working with data supplier Autodata to offer a wide range of vehicle data via its AlliCat system. The partners are said to be offering this uniquely through The Parts Alliance.
According to the companies, obtaining both systems through the state of the art garage management system GS Onestop provides total control. From the moment that the VRM is entered, the three systems work together. The combination of Autodata and AlliCat enables the workshop to access the correct data and linked with AlliCat Online this allows ease of parts selection and ordering to your local member of The Parts Alliance. GS Onestop can identify the tasks to be done, enables a quotation to be generated, a job card to be raised and updated. When the parts arrive the system can manage the stock. When the job has been completed, the system will generate the final invoice. The system is so intuitive that all of the vehicle details will be saved – allowing fingertip access to tyre specifications.
Andrew Field, commercial director of The Parts Alliance, said: “We chose to partner with Autodata as it’s a perfect fit – created directly under license from manufacturers’ own published repair information. We can use it to ensure technicians reproduce the correct procedures for all service and repair work needed in a typical independent workshop.
“By only providing data taken directly from the manufacturer, Autodata gives the independent workshop a vital tool to confidently compete with the franchised dealership by allowing them to work to the same standard, using the same quality repair times, technical information and complete manufacture service schedules.
“Autodata simplifies and standardises its format across all vehicle manufacturers, enabling the technician to quickly obtain all information required to start the job. This ensures the customer receives a competent, quality service with all warranties remaining intact and service books can be confidently stamped.”
