Sailun’s ‘growing’ truck range

Established in 2002 and with the backing of the highly-regarded Mesnac Company Limited, Sailun reports that it is gaining a “fast-growing reputation” for its radial truck tyre range. According to the company, its development has been fuelled by quality standards enhanced by the research, design and technical testing facilities occupied by over 300 technical Sailun engineers and staff in the National Economic and Technological Development Zone in Qingdao.

With a current manufacturing facility covering an area of over 400,000 square metres and with a second manufacturing facility in Vietnam due to come on-line in 2013, there is arguably the potential and certainly the capacity for growth.

The current distribution strategy includes the appointment of key professional distribution partners – each of whom have regional responsibilities to expand and develop the Sailun truck tyre brand within their local region. Examples include Kirkby Tyres (UK), Domerc Pneus International (France) and Intergomma (Italy).

Currently the truck tyre range covers applications including: dump trucks, concrete mixers, pick up and delivery trucks, low platform trailers, tractor trailers, long distance, RVs, inter and intrastate buses.

Here are a few examples. The S606 premium steer/all-position tyre comes in eight sizes. Sailun’s premium steer tyre, featuring extra wide shoulders with built in sipes for excellent stability and traction under all weather conditions. An extra deep 16 – 17.5 mm tread depth ensures exceptional mileage, while an interlocking symmetrical tread block design promotes even wear and a square footprint.

Another is the S637 regional all-position tyre, which also comes in 8 sizes. This product includes an extra-wide solid shoulder resists damage caused by high-scrub applications, while a mirrored tread design ensures even wear.

Then there are long haul options like the S696 all-position radial (available in two sizes). According to Sailun representatives this features a low heat tread rubber design and high-strength tread and carcass design increases resistance to bursting and ensures driving safety.

Other tyres in the range include the S737 regional pick up drive tyre, the S753 premium open should option, the S815 mixed service all-position, the S825 premium mixed service all position and the S911 off-road option.
