Nexen N’Blue HD comes third in Auto Express tyre test
Nexen N’Blue HD, South Korean tyre manufacturer Nexen’s European orientated eco-friendly tyre range, came third in the most recent Auto Express ‘Big Tyre Test 2012’. On two assessments (wet handling and curved aquaplaning), the Nexen N’Blue HD came second overall, with the overall result pleasing engineers and managers alike. It was the first time that Nexen Tire has participated in this test.
Auto Express selected eight tyres among the many makes available on the UK market (in UK’s top-selling size 205/55R16) and subjected them to nine assessments, with the winner in each test scoring 100 per cent, and the other seven tyres marked down accordingly.
Joo Ho Song, Head of Nexen Tire Europe, said: “We are delighted to have received such an accolade, as we were asked to participate in this kind of test for the first time: in the development of the HD tread, a particular focus was placed on safety, handling and optimum driving. Auto Express’s results confirm Nexen Europe’s belief that the eco-friendly product group ‘Nexen N’Blue’ meets and exceeds European customers’ requirements. We were up against the very best of European competition.”
Auto Express commented that the Nexen N’Blue HD felt “strong on the wet circuit and …gave a secure feel overall. It also took a podium position in the critical wet braking test.” The verdict brands the N’Blue HD as “competitively priced, and a great debut for Nexen. This tyre seems to love wet roads.”
The Nexen N’Blue HD is distributed in the UK by BITS (which also supplies Kwikfit). Its RRP is £70 + VAT.
