Hankook hosts Golf Classic
Hankook Tyre UK recently hosted its 4th annual Hankook Golf Classic at the Staverton Park Golf Club, located close to the tyre manufacturer's UK headquarters. Over 80 guests, including tyre retailers, fleet managers and Hankook personnel showed off their golfing skills. A special guest was Calum Clark, a senior player for Northampton Saints Rugby Club, of which Hankook is the sponsor.
The day’s golf was followed by dinner and the awards presentation. The overall individual winner was Geoff Wetton, of Nuneaton Tyres & Exhausts; second place went to Gordon Thompson of Gates Tyres, Carlisle and third was Mitchell Lester, from Thornleigh Freight.
The winners of the team prize were: Andy Johnson (Andy’s Tyres), Nigel Payne (Watling Tyres), Kevin Stannard (Tolgate Tyres) and Nick Vallance (W.L.Vallance Ltd.). Steve Willis (Dawson Tyre & Exhaust) produced the day’s longest drive and Tony Glennon (Nation Tyres & Autocare) won the nearest the pin competition.
Alongside the golf, there was a charity raffle to raise money for two local charities; the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and Animals In Need. Said Tony Lee, managing director of Hankook Tyre UK: “Hankook’s Golf Classic is always a firm favourite with our customers, helping to build upon valuable relationships within the industry. In addition to this, we are delighted to show our support for several local charities.”
