Dmack Kinetic S tyre achieves wet grip A label
World Rally Championship tyre supplier, Dmack is rolling out its passenger car and commercial tyre ranges this year, and the brand has received something of a boost in becoming one of the first Chinese tyre manufacturers to achieve an A rating in wet grip for one of its passenger car tyre products. Manufactured by Shandong Yongtai and designed and developed from the brand’s base in the north-west of England, the brand says it has achieved the rating with a concept version of its Kinetic S high performance tyre, which was launched in May this year. Dmack said the concept version of the tyre has been produced “to demonstrate the high levels of expertise that lie within the business”.
Dmack said the concept Kinetic S utilises technology from its world rally activities, being – along with Michelin – one of only two approved tyre suppliers to the FIA World Rally Championship. When it was launched (see Tyres & Accessories June 2012 edition), Dmack said its PCR range had been developed using the knowledge gained from world class motorsport.
Dick Cormack, DMACK managing director, said: “This A rating is a real indication of the quality processes and people within the business. DMACK jumped straight into the highest level of world motorsport and the experience it gathered with regards to energy efficiency, performance and safety has really helped with the design of our new PCR range.
“Chinese tyre manufacturers often don’t receive due recognition for the expertise they deliver, however, DMACK aims to combine the benefits of British technology with Chinese manufacturing to deliver a complete range of PCR, TBR and Trackday products which offer exceptional value. Any manufacturer can produce an A-rated tyre but that comes at a cost. We’ve proved a point here but ultimately our products will combine performance and value.”
