Concirrus to add PressurePro TPMS to Mobile Devices
Concirrus Ltd has announced that it will add PressurePro’s Tyre Pressure Monitoring System technology to its Mobile Devices Telematics Market Place. The company is the developer of the open telematics OS and telematics hardware, and under the agreement, facilitated by Concirrus, Mobile Devices will integrate PressurePro’s tyre pressure information into the Morpheus embedded framework, allowing users easy access to the pressure data through a new set of standard APIs. The company says the agreement was prompted by the increasing need for reducing costs and risks related to under-inflated tyres, and to respond to legislation in Europe and the US promoting pressure checks and penalising those running on under-inflated tyres.
The agreement will draw on the advanced technologies offered by PressurePro and the expertise of Concirrus’ founders in the commercial vehicle telematics market, as well as on Mobile Devices’ open platform, wide range of hardware types and extensive software development kit. Concirrus says the integration will allow operators to obtain the information needed to manage tyre pressures across their fleet, maintain compliance and help mitigate problem tyre situations to improve safety.
“We see the provision of integrated tyre pressure information as increasingly important for fleets worldwide,” said Phillip Zaroor, president & CEO of Advantage PressurePro, “and we are excited to extend the reach of our solutions alongside Concirrus and Mobile Devises.”
“Fleet managers might not have an allocated telematics budget, but they all have a fuel/tyre budget which TPMS technology helps to decrease,” stated Andrew Yeoman, CEO of Concirrus. “Mobile Devices has always led the way in the provision of technology for Telematics Service Providers and, having seen the impressive customer solutions that they deliver, we are really pleased to have them as a partner for the PressurePro solutions.”
Sandy Mayer, Mobile Devices GM of North America added: “Advances in sensor technologies and stricter regulation on trucks worldwide make today’s tyre pressure management systems not only a compliance necessity but a key competitive advantage. With PressurePro on board, Mobile Devices’ marketplace of telematics services now includes the best-in-class TPMS.”
