Two tyre sponsors for Malaysian endurance race

The Malaysia Merdeka Endurance Race (MMER) is, according to the Straits Times newspaper, the biggest endurance race in Asia and the 13th MMER will take place between Aug 29-Sept 2.

This year’s event is unique as, for the first time, there will be two official tyre manufacturers after it was announced that Michelin and Hankook have been signed as official tyre sponsors.

“Teams can make their own choice between these two brands,” said Sepang International Circuit chief executive officer Datuk Razlan Razali.

The 13th MMER will start on Aug 30 with the official free practice sessions. Qualifying will be on Merdeka Day, Aug 31, while the race will be flagged off the following day at 12pm and finishing at midnight.
