Tarox releases Mk2 Focus RS brake upgrade kit
Tarox has released a brake upgrade kit for Ford’s powerful Mk2 Focus RS. The kit consists of two precision-machined 300mm two-piece discs and uprated pads. Also available is a matching rear disc upgrade.
The discs are designed to fit within the OEM calipers, but when used in conjunction with the supplied Tarox Performance brake pads, offer significantly greater retardation than the factory set-up, the company says. The discs are machined from a solid billet and have been designed to have exceptionally high tensile strength. The ultimate tensile strength for these discs is rated at 57kg per sq mm. Putting this figure in perspective, Tarox says the industry standard for racing specification discs is usually 38 kg per sq mm and the CEE standard U.T.S. is 25kg per sq mm.
Two designs are available; either the Sport Japan with its combination of drilled and grooved good looks or the F2000 with its sweeping radial grooves. Either can be run with the ‘Strada’ pad for fast road work, or the ‘Corsa’ pad for cars that spend more time on track.
