Starco to rollout new IT platform
The nature of business communication has changed profoundly over the half century since Starco was founded, both in terms of technology and how the workplace as a whole has evolved. Like many long-established businesses, Starco has progressed from the world of the typewriter and the fax to a world in which communication and the availability of information has become the most essential business operating parameter. During the last few years the company has operated legacy systems dedicated to separate administrative, communication and sales functions, but now Starco says it has recognised that implementing a unified online IT platform is essential for the company’s global development.
“Our customers and partners are no longer tied to a desk or a single postal address, they require and expect access to product, stock and order information regardless of where they are in the world,” explained Starco online manager Henrik Notlev. “We are therefore in the process of implementing a new corporate IT platform that will unite our global online activities, beginning in the autumn with a re-launch of our corporate website.”
Starco says the new IT platform will bring much more than just a new look; it will serve as a completely new backbone, based on a globally renowned CMS solution, that will support all the company’s online activities within a single CMS environment that will be implemented in every Starco entity worldwide. The Danish firm says its new IT platform will “have a sharp focus on targeting and supporting OE manufacturers as well as the growing aftermarket segment for tyres, tubes, wheels and special wheels.”
The implementation of this system is viewed as an initiative that will put Starco ahead of many competitors in the market. “The new platform enables us to automate many different processes to ensure that communication and the interchange of data is possible on multiple platforms, including the desktop as well as smart phones and tablet PCs,” shared Notlev. “With this project the management team and all regional entities recognise that the online world is an increasingly vital communication platform and we look forward to developing new, groundbreaking online services and introducing these to our employees and customers around the world.”
