Mitas extends ATL distribution agreement
Mitas Tyres UK Limited says its customers will benefit from extension of its distribution contract with Derbyshire-based Ascott Transport Limited (ATL); the deal with ATL enables next-day delivery on the company’s range of agricultural, industrial and motorcycle products. ATL manages the storage and distribution of the tyre maker’s tyres throughout the UK, and hold stocks of Mitas, Continental and Cultor-brand tyres to the value of £800,000 to £1,000,000.
Business at Mitas Tyres has grown substantially over the past two years, the company reports, and it has experienced strong demand across all market sectors. Turnover is said to have increased by more than 50 per cent. The arrangement with ATL will allow Mitas to further improve its customer service and offer a next-day delivery service on all orders placed before 4.30pm.
Founded in 1959, ATL is a growing logistics provider that offers a one-stop-shop for distribution, warehouse or logistic requirements. A member of Palletline Plc, the UK’s leading pallet distribution specialist, ATL recently received the Palletline Small Delivery Depot of the Year Award for the achievements of its Carlisle Depot.
“We are delighted to be working with ATL for a further three-year term,” stated Jon Ward, managing director of Mitas Tyres UK Ltd. “While Mitas is widely regarded as the market leader in off-road tyres, ATL are recognised as experts in their field, offering excellent service and, most importantly, having a very good understanding of the tyre sector and our specific requirements.
“Through ATL, we are now able to offer Mitas customers two delivery options,” Ward continued. “While our larger distributors who buy in bulk and hold their own stocks of Mitas tyres are able to have containerised shipments delivered directly from Mitas factories in the Czech Republic, other distributors have access to a next-day service through ATL. Either way, end-users benefit from excellent products, service and availability.”
