Kings Road Tyres (KRT) is one of the largest specialist wholesale distributors of truck tyres in the UK. With a track record stretching back 40 years, the company provides a complete commercial tyre service covering premium brands such as Bridgestone, Continental and Goodyear, through mid-range products from Firestone and its exclusive distributorship of the Continental Group brand, Matador. Brand choice and range is supported by a multi-million pound inventory and a strategic network of eight distribution warehouses. By using their own 50-strong delivery fleet, rather than employing third party carriers, the company provides a competitive and responsive delivery service. And, unlike some competitors, there is no minimum order value for truck tyres, which keeps costs down in a very competitive market place.

Recent sales and marketing initiatives to support the company’s truck tyre range include the publication of the KRT Commercial Range Guide 2012, which brings together the commercial range in one brochure for the first time. 

Developing Matador range

KRT took over as exclusive suppliers of the Matador brand in 2011 and has identified its 87-year tyre manufacturing heritage and reputation for quality as key factors, as it seeks to boost sales over the next 12 months. Marketing activity includes a new website at www.matadortyres.co.uk covering the full portfolio of Matador truck and bus applications for Regional and Long Haul, Mixed Service, City Urban and winter fitments. Sales promotions and incentives will also back-up the sales drive.
