Ex-Sibur CEO Gurinov appointed president of Stroytransgaz
Former Sibur-Russian Tyres CEO Vadim Gurinov has been appointed president of Russian engineering construction company Stroytransgaz, replacing Sergey Makarov following the latter’s resignation. Gurinov, who was elected to the post on 22 August, is a member of Stroytransgaz’s Board of Directors and continues to hold the post of chairman of tyre maker JSC Cordiant’s Board of Directors.
Until his succession by Dmitry Sokov at the start of this year, Gurinov served as CEO of Sibur-Russian Tyres, a position he was first appointed to in 2003; from 1 January 2006 onwards he was CEO of the tyre maker’s holding company. Gurinov was born in 1971 and graduated from the St Petersburg Institute of Precision Mechanics and Optics and St Petersburg Finance and Economics Institute. He also studied the CEO programme at France’s INSEAD. In 2007, the Russian Federation’s Ministry of Defence awarded him with a lapel badge “For the Construction of Automotive Equipment.”
