TAFF Awards 2012: Tyre & Aftermarket Equipment Supplier of the Year
Last year's Tyre & Aftermarket Equipment Supplier of the Year winners (at their first attempt) Autogem Motor Concepts are joined this year by regular finalists Apaseal and Rema Tip Top Automotive. A new name is that of Pang UK and the final company in the shortlist is that of CAM Systems – very different from the others in that it provides software solutions as opposed to machinery and consumables.
Apaseal
Apaseal are proud to be nominated again for the aftermarket supplier category of this prestigious award.
As far back as the mid fifties, Apaseal has been involved in manufacturing, distribution and after-service on everything from tyre repair materials, valves, balance weights, tools and equipment through to training and development. Since the very early days of its existence Apaseal has touched on some aspect or other of almost every business in this country and many overseas. Apaseal is proud to be one of the few companies still manufacturing in the UK. This year has seen great changes and investment as the company has moved to a purpose built warehouse and distribution centre in Mildenhall.
Apaseal continues to play a leading role in the development of British Standards guidelines on repairs, and have been very active with the introduction of what are seen as the norms today; fitting TPMS valves, enhancing wheel balancing techniques and consistently providing the tyre distributor with opportunities to achieve additional revenue and provide better tyre and wheel maintenance for the customer. This experience will ensure a valuable contribution in helping the market develop further and tackle the issues that will arise with the growing demand from the trade. This demand is exemplified in the work in which the company is actively involved, from the supply of “state of the art” tyre changing equipment to the mobile tyre fitting concept, “Corghi Touchless alignment” and even wheel nut security for truck and bus fleets.
Apaseal pride themselves on a partnership approach in order to ensure the highest level of service and customer satisfaction.
Deliveries are made throughout the UK within 24 hours and in some cases the same day. The mobile sales team of 20 technical sales representatives carry a substantial product range on board and can accept an order which within minutes can be logged onto the system, located in the warehouse and packaged for delivery.
Apaseal prides itself on giving a consistent quality of service, as well as tailoring services to customers’ individual needs. Apaseal helps to build the tyre distributor business and the company claims a track record next to none throughout the country.
Autogem Motor Concepts LLP
In 2011, Autogem were nominated in this category for the very first time and ended up winning the TAFF Award. This year, the company says:
“We are delighted to be finalists for the second year in a row and wish to thank all those who have supported us over the years. It was an honour to win the award last year and it has driven our team to work even harder in 2012.
“We hope our industry associates have appreciated the considerable investments we have made and are finding our TPMS training, technical support and innovations particularly interesting. We have many more developments in the pipeline as the Autogem brand approaches its 50th anniversary.”
Cam Systems
Cam Systems has taken a leadership position with the design and implementation of a range of innovative solutions to meet the requirements of the EU Tyre Labelling legislation. The introduction of V24 means every one of Cam’s 436 Cameo customers is in a position to comply. Through the development of a customer-facing display option tyre retailers are empowered to take advantage of the legislation and use the information to help upsell consumers to better performance, higher margin products.
Cam’s investment in the creation of the Online Tyre Catalogue provides a central data hub that adds value beyond merely aiding legislative compliance. By working on its design with major OEMs, the OTC provides a wide range of data, information and visuals – such as tyre labels, tread graphics and manufacturer logos – across all available categories of tyre, not just those affected by the forthcoming legislation.
With its MIDaS B2B platform now delivering over £250 million of sales per annum and newly released applications such as Workshop Scheduler and UniServ, an additional product offering delivering business information through its panintelligence dashboard as well as upcoming new launches in Retail CRM, Cam is continuing to deliver value-adding software solutions to its customers over and above options for compliance in Tyre Labelling. Little wonder then that new customers continue to join its blue-chip client portfolio.
