OTR tyres come naturally to RH Claydon
The earthmover/OTR tyre market sits very comfortably with RH Claydon Ltd, according to one of the business’ directors, John Parker. The company’s key brands including BKT, Galaxy and Primex cater for this sector and as such are reportedly perceived in the market place as representing “high quality at value for money prices”.
According to Parker BKT has a size, pattern, fitment and profile portfolio second to none for this segment. It range encompasses multipurpose, plant and construction, industrial, earthmover, grader, loader, mining, port application and more. Even though the majority of these fitments are cross-ply in design, BKT also offers an expanding range of radial fitments under the banners “Multi Max” and “Earth Max”.
Nevertheless, BKT doesn’t plan to sit back on its corporate laurels and be content with the current product portfolio, Parker explained, as the firm has an investment strategy and implementation programme in place for “many new sizes, profiles and applications in both cross-ply and radial design” all aimed at the global off-highway market.
Sharing the billing with BKT are Galaxy and Primex. These brands comes as part of the Alliance Tire Group stable and they to are said to be offering an “expanding” product range of sizes, patterns, profiles and fitments in both radial and cross-ply construction. These are design for earthmover, grader, loader, mining, multi-pupose, plant and construction and port application. To re-emphasise the quality theme, it is well known that original equipment manufacturers (or OEMs) demand the highest quality product to meet their specific need and application criteria. And this is something that is said to make the Galaxy brand in particular stand out, as it continues to win OE supply contracts to some prestigious manufacturers under the banners “Hulk, Beefy Baby, Hippo, Giraffe and Super High Lift”. According to parker, this latter point is “very good news” for the tyre distributors and service providers in that a replacement market as it is likely to illicit an “end user pull through” supply and demand effect.
These brands are flanked by Mitas, which also offers a growing range of sizes, fitments and applications.
With its head office and central warehouse in Bury St. Edmunds, and additional sales and service locations in Falkirk, Stockport, Scunthorpe and Swindon, the company’s so-called “all-embracing” service and product package is said to be available and ready to satisfy the existing and future needs of the earthmover and OTR tyre market across Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
