ISO accreditation for Cooper’s Serbian plant
All eight of Cooper Tire & Rubber’s global manufacturing facilities are producing to ISO 9001:2008 standard following the certification of the company’s subsidiary in Kruševac, Serbia. Certification of the former Trayal plant, which officially came into Cooper hands on 17 January, was described by Kruševac plant manager Peter Salmon as marking “another step in making Serbia a globally competitive manufacturing facility.”
According to Salmon, the team in Kruševac worked closely with Cooper’s corporate quality team to earn this important certification within months of production starting in February. Commenting on this achievement, Hall Miller, the president of Cooper’s International Tire Division, stated “we adhere to the highest standards of quality throughout our organisation. Earning ISO 9001:2008 at all eight of the tyre manufacturing plants globally demonstrates our ongoing commitment to quality and continuous process improvement, which aligns with our strategic plan goals.”
