Goodyear Dunlop renews contract with 70,000-strong TIP fleet
Goodyear Dunlop Tires Europe describes the renewal of its contract with GE Equipment Services Europe B.V. as being “one of the largest tyre deals in Europe.” The company initially won the tyre contract for GE’s TIP Trailer Services operation in 2006, and the renewed contract covers the supply and service of tyres for the 70,000 strong pan-European TIP fleet for the coming three years.
Tyre-related service provided under the contract includes Goodyear FleetOnlineSolutions (FOS) as a key element. The internet-based tyre management programme is accessible by both Goodyear Dunlop and the customer, as well as both companies’ workshop network. It gives details of the customer’s tyre policy and data for each vehicle to the TruckForce service provider network, and ensures all work is carried out to the agreed specification and at agreed prices with customer authorisation. According to Goodyear Dunlop, FOS reduces down time as guarantees of payment are not required, while a central invoicing system ensures paperwork is kept to a minimum. For the fleet manager, FOS offers central reporting on tyre performance and associated costs.
TIP Trailer Services is a leader within the trailer rental and leasing industry and operates one of the largest and most diverse trailer, tanker, intermodal and truck fleets in Europe. The company provides a very wide range of equipment types on both short-term rental and long-term lease. TIP Trailer Services also offers a range of value-added services, which include maintenance, tyres, roadside assistance and damage repair, as well as smart fleet management solutions such as asset tracking and tyre pressure monitoring systems. Goodyear Dunlop works closely within the contract to support TIP, where appropriate, in order to further enhance service delivery to its customers. Most tyres supplied under the agreement are Goodyear and Dunlop-branded products for long and regional haul applications, predominately in sizes 385/65R22.5 and 435/50R19.5. NextTread retreads are also fitted.
“At TIP Trailer Services we always strive to offer the very best to our customers,” said Paul Beadle, European operations leader at TIP Trailer Services. “Our partnership with Goodyear Dunlop not only ensures that our equipment has the best performing tyres with excellent support, but also the reporting and invoicing ensure the best management practices as well.”
“We are really delighted that TIP Trailer Services has again chosen Goodyear Dunlop as its tyre and tyre service provider”, added Boris Stevanovic, marketing director Truck Tires, Goodyear Dunlop EMEA. “This contract combines all of our services, including FleetOnlineSolutions, with fuel-saving Goodyear tyres, NextTread retreads and our ability to provide all of this right across Europe.”
