Revenue potential of Snap-on’s Hofmann aligners
Snap-on Equipment’s extensive Hofmann range of wheel alignment equipment could generate a net income of over £30,000 per year even given conservative throughput expectations, according to the company’s recent field research. Snap-on says its range accommodates any workshop and level of service volume, while the leading European manufacturer of garage equipment also offers wheel alignment service expertise and aftersales care. Its most recent machines feature the latest full 3D four wheel alignment technology.
Field research by Hofmann has found that workshops carrying out four alignment procedures per day can generate additional net income of £32,910 per annum, based on a five and a half day week, direct costs of £15 per hour and a charge of £50 for each procedure. The company also stresses the benefits of the system to customers; accurate alignment also diagnoses chassis problems that often require replacement steering or suspension components. This too can result in increasing business opportunities for garages.
Snap-on says a key benefit of its full 3D four wheel alignment technology is the facility to take accurate alignment readings to OEM specification in under three minutes from vehicle set-up. The procedure is simplified through a screen-driven process that guides the technician with clear chassis adjustment instructions via easily understood colour graphics. Hofmann wheel aligners are manufactured at Snap-on Equipment’s factories in Italy and the United States. Leading vehicle manufacturers including Audi, BMW, Citroën, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Porsche and VW recommend the Hofmann brand.
Bill Bruno, Snap-on Equipment’s senior vice president of sales & marketing, comments: “Our extensive range of wheel aligners offer the ideal solution for every type and size of workshop offering wheel service, without compromising on quality or technology. Wheel alignment is an excellent business opportunity and many of our customers are undoubtedly seeing the technical and commercial advantages of stepping into the age of full 3D four wheel alignment technology, away from the mindset that’s more familiar with laser-based equipment.”
