Heuver expanding Aeolus portfolio in 2012
At this year’s Reifen show in Germany, Heuver Tyrewholesale revealed it will soon begin selling Aeolus passenger car tyres in the European markets where it currently supplies the Chinese manufacturer’s OTR and truck tyres. According to Heuver marketing manager Maureen Voortman, the Aeolus passenger range consists of three different product lines and will be launched in Europe in late 2012. “They’re good tyres,” she commented to Tyres & Accessories during Reifen 2012. “You have ‘A’ brands, and now you have Aeolus.”
Also new and gracing the company’s stand at Reifen 2012 was the first Aeolus agricultural product to be sold in Europe by Heuver, the AE77. This new tyre, available in size 24R20.5, is suitable for towed agricultural equipment such as earth dumpers, fertiliser tanks, silage trucks, fertiliser spreaders and crash tenders. It is suited for use at up to 50mph or 80km/h. Voortman said Heuver “expects a lot” from the AE77 and pointed out that the tyre is retreadable and can also be supplied as a tyre/rim combination.
“We can now expand our close collaboration with Aeolus in the field of earth-moving and truck tyres to include more specific agricultural tyres”, stated Heuver Tyrewholesale director Bertus Heuver upon announcing the introduction of the AE77. “This has helped to complete our range because, just like the tyres in other sectors, Aeolus agricultural tyres are also supplied under Heuver’s ‘The Leading Alternative’ slogan. They comply with all major legal requirements and are reliable, wear-resistant, durable and robust, and are also competitively priced. In addition, at the end of the first life phase, their carcasses are perfect for tread renewal. This helps to significantly improve the total life span of each tyre. This second life phase has a positive impact on the total cost price per running hour.”
A further new Heuver addition from Aeolus is the AGP23, a tyre the Dutch wholesaler describes as the “ideal tyre” for driven applications such as mobile cranes, small shovels and Unimogs. The AGP23 features a tread based on the driving direction, which Heuver says ensures excellent grip. The tyre is also said to have a high self-cleansing capacity. The AGP23 is available in size 445/65R22.5 and is rated for speeds up to 50mph or 80km/h.
“The new Aeolus AGP tyre is a very specific addition to our range and is a genuine alternative for renowned brands,” commented Bertus Heuver. “We can now also offer our customers the very best choice in this sector: a variety of options in different price categories, but always of the highest quality. This is consistent with our vision and the principles we have identified in our mission. We want to be clear and transparent and want to be a partner in business for our customers. This will allow them to focus on their customers.”
Alongside its range of new Aeolus tyres, at Reifen 2012 Heuver displayed examples of the Chinese manufacturer’s new retread range. The wholesaler began supplying Aeolus retreads in April with the launch of the size 385/65R22.5 Eco-Twin trailer tyre, and Maureen Voortman says Heuver “expects to offer a full second life programme by the end of the year.”
