Halfords to use Cam Systems tyre labelling system
Halfords Autocentres has signed a deal with Cam Systems to implement its customer-facing tyre labelling programme across its 260 plus centres. Cam says its system will enable the network to address the EU legislation efficiently, while communicating a high quality, interactive image to motorists. The MIDaS based platform will allow the retailer to print out all the legal tyre label credentials on customer invoice documentation and deliver an option to present the tyre’s labelling characteristics – particularly to deal with the legislation’s “pre offer” stipulations – at point of sale and via the internet.
The development follows swiftly on the back of Halfords’ investment into Cam’s e-procurement platform for its centre network. Underpinning the tyre labelling solution is Cam’s new Online Tyre Catalogue, the central tyre data hub that allows OEMs and importers to upload their product data updates to meet their legislative compliance. The OTC provides a wide range of tyre labelling collateral such as tyre labels, tread graphics and manufacturer logos across all available categories of tyre, not just those affected by the forthcoming legislation.
Martin Barber, product marketing manager of Halfords Autocentres, says: “Cam’s complete integrated tyre labelling solution provides us with everything the network requires to be compliant. Having worked with the company previously to streamline our e-procurement processes, we are confident that all our tyre labelling needs will be addressed swiftly and efficiently and the business will benefit from the added value that Cam Systems can introduce.”
Mike Allen, managing director of Cam Systems, comments, “Our online tyre labelling solution will enable Halfords Autocentres to present a consistent and professional image across all of its retail outlets and via the web while meeting the required legal obligations. In addition, by choosing to invest in our tyre data solution, the centres will be in a position to upsell to better quality products.”
