Cooper launches WeatherMaster WSC
Cooper Tire & Rubber Company has launched a new addition to its performance winter tyre range, the WeatherMaster WSC – which stands for winter and snow confidence. The tyre’s directional tread design and high-silica polymer, low-modulus tread compound are designed to provide increased grip on icy, slushy and wet surfaces. It is launched in sizes suitable for SUVs and some passenger cars, including the BMW X3, Lexus RX350/450, Mazda 3 and 5, Toyota Rav-4 and Nissan Murano.
The directional tread design, which incorporates Cooper’s patented Snow Groove technology, improves acceleration and handling on snow, while micro-gauge sipes offer the biting edges necessary to provide improved traction for a more confidence-inspiring drive.
For additional traction on icy surfaces, the WSC is studdable, offering a 132-stud count, using a 12-row stud pattern for superior grip when studded, to help hold the road. The WSC is branded with the mountain/snowflake symbol and features winter-themed sidewall styling and eight half-worn indicators, to provide vehicle owners with a quick view of tyre wear.
The WSC will be available in an initial range of 10 sizes, ranging from 17” to 18” rims:
